Residents take on trails in Irene
An extra trail of 15km was added to the Revolution Trails options on Saturday.
Residents took part in the pet-friendly Revolution Trails weekend run/walk this weekend at the Irene River Estate grounds in Centurion.
Every Saturday, Revolution Trails offers pet-friendly runs for residents who can choose between 2km, 5km, and 10km distances. This weekend, however, residents could also do 15km.

“It’s always fun for everybody, very beautiful and interesting venues with well-marked trails. The people are always friendly and it’s a community that we become part of,” said Revolution Trails owner and founder, Gilzelle Langerman.

Langerman said that the 5km is a particular favourite of the locals as it passes by the riverside providing scenic sights for participants.
Irene Estate has also been a favourite for Revolution Trails since October 2020.
From 06:30 participants could register and runners started on their selected trails at 07:00. Upon completion, they received their medals, had refreshments and socialised.

After a successful 2023, Revolution Trails said it’s excited for its upcoming two-staged race in May 2024.
The race is scheduled to take place at De Voetpadkloof Resort outside Middelburg from May 18-19.
