One dead, two airlifted after horrific Welbekend crash

In a statement, it has been stated that the vehicles seemed to have crashed at high speeds.

One fatality has been registered after a serious motor vehicle collision occurred on the R25 in the Welbekend area in Pretoria.

Emer-G-Med paramedics responded to the scene and on arrival found multiple vehicles had collided.

In a statement, it stated that the vehicles had seemed to have crashed at high speed. “Two people were found to have sustained critical injuries and a decision was made to airlift them with the assistance of the Netcare911 and HALO aeromedical helicopters through to specialist facilities for further definitive care.”

“A male aged in his thirties was found to have sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead on arrival by paramedics.”

He said the roadway remained closed to allow emergency services to clear the scene.

Police have yet to investigate the cause of the accident.
