Death of two police officers scrutinised

The couple was found with gunshot wounds at their home on December 26.

A murder and inquest investigation is being pursued following the death of two Pretoria police members.

The members were reportedly a couple living together in the north of Pretoria.

According to reports they were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide after it was reported by one of the deceased’s mothers to the Loate police unit.

The police responded to the distress call on December 26, 2023 and discovered the lifeless bodies of the police members.

The two officers were believed to be Constables.

Police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi confirmed the incident and said the police in Loate were investigating a murder and inquest case following the death of a couple at Slovoville in Winterveld.

“Both were members of the SAPS stationed at Rosslyn Public Order Policing Unit.”

“The couple was found with gunshot wounds at their home in Slovoville. The circumstances that led to the shooting are unknown at this stage, pending further police investigations.”
