Pedestrian struck by car in Centurion

The 19-year-old man sustained moderate injuries and was stabilised on the scene.

A 19-year-old man was injured when he was struck by a car on Wednesday afternoon.

According to Cert-SA, the incident occurred on the M31 Nellmapius Drive near the M36 Olievenhoutbosch Road outside Rooihuiskraal.

The passenger side of the vehicle struck the pedestrian.

“On Wednesday afternoon, our Centurion crew responded to a pedestrian-vehicle collision on Nelmapius Road near Olievenhoutbosh Road,” said Cert-SA.

The Tshwane emergency services, metro police, Gauteng emergency medical services and Wierdabrug Sector 2 CPF assisted at the scene.

Cert-SA said the teen sustained moderate injuries.

“The patient was stabilised on the scene and transported to hospital by the medical services,” Cert-SA said.

Emergency services spokesperson Charles Mabaso confirmed the incident.

“A man was knocked down by a car. He was treated and transported to hospital by the medical services in a serious but stable condition.”
