Picket at the Union Building on Monday

The TMPD said there will be a picket at the Union Building on Monday morning. Here is more information on the picket.

AfriForum will have a picket at the Union Building on Monday morning.

According to the Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD), the purpose of the picket is that AfriForum wants the National Council of Provinces to revise the Basic Education Laws Amendments and allow SGB to determine and authorise language policies in their designated schools.

 

“They are expected to expected to disperse from the Union Buildings at 11:00.”

TMPD and police officers will be deployed to monitor the picket.

Meanwhile, in other news, rain and thunderstorms are expected in most of the Gauteng province on Monday.

The SA Weather Services (SAWS) warned that rain and thunderstorms are expected in several parts of Gauteng, including Pretoria.

Vox Weather Service said that from Sunday, a weak cut-off low-pressure system, later weakening into an upper-air through, will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms to the central and eastern parts of the country.

Temperatures of 21°C are expected in Pretoria with 57% humidity, and winds of 16 km/h are expected.
