Organisation for homeless pleads for donations

Managing director, Elsabe Blignaut says they only have a little under R300 in their account.

Local NPO Danville Hulp Projek is pleading with locals to help it carry out its winter drive this year.

Located at 286 Cliffendale Drive, Faerie Glen, the NPO assists homeless and underprivileged residents in the area.

Managing director, Elsabe Blignaut said the organisation has a little under R300 in its account and needs assistance from the community to carry out the work it does for the underprivileged.

“But now we stand still today with only R267 in the bank. No funds to buy food, medicine, fuel, etc.

The number of households without income is increasing by the day. We receive mostly old summer clothes. We have no warm clothes or blankets to give out,” Blignaut said.

The NPO is desperate for the following:

– Groceries, non-perishable food

– Clean and usable blankets

– Clean and usable tracksuits

– Funds for medical, transportation, rent and pre-paid electricity.

“The survival of the project hangs now in the balance and winter is, on top of that too, now here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The project is now in your hands. Without your help, we can’t help the underprivileged keep their head above water. Please help save the Danville Relief Project,” Blignaut said.

Residents are also reminded that all cash donations are tax deductible.
