SANDF warns about recruitment scam

The SANDF is warning the public about a recruitment scam that is doing rounds. Here is what you should know about the scam.

The public is warned about a South African National Defence Force (SANDF) recruitment scam that is doing rounds.

According to SANDF spokesperson Siphiwe Dlamini, the advertisement in circulation is not a legitimate military recruitment advert, and the SANDF recruitment office did not issue it.

“We have been alerted to yet another purported SANDF recruitment scam that is circulating on the various social media platforms initiated by faceless criminals intent on fleecing unsuspecting and vulnerable citizens.”

He said there is currently no official recruitment drive underway within the SANDF.

“The SANDF wishes to state categorically that there is currently no official recruitment drive being conducted.

“The repeated deceitful acts by these unpatriotic faceless criminals, targeting our unsuspecting youths is abhorrently unethical, illegal and should be condemned by all law-abiding citizens of our country.”

Dlamini said these unscrupulous criminals are known in the communities where they recruit, and the SANDF is encouraging those who may know them to anonymously report them to the SAPS.
