Motorists should take note that several streets will be affected by a planned march on Monday. These streets will be affected.

The Tshwane metro police warned motorists that several streets will be affected by a planned march on Monday.

“Take note that there will be a march on Monday in Phillip Net, Pretoria West by SANCO.

“They want all projects at Pretoria West to consider hiring locals.”

It furthermore said the marchers will gather from 09:00 at Phillip Nel Pick and Pay parking and march to Pretoria West Hospital.

The route of the march is as follows:

From the gathering point, they will join Sytze Wierda Avenue and proceed straight to Pretoria West Hospital.

The following streets will be affected:

  • Sytze Wierda Avenue
  • Morkel Street
  • Strauss Street
  • Robert Cole-Bowen Street

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes such as:

  • Transoranje Road
  • Pearcy Eagle Street
  • Wynand Smith Street
  • Gustav Schmikl Street

“Tshwane metro police and SAPS will be deployed to monitor the march and all affected streets.”

Meanwhile in other news, two people were injured when a truck lost control on the N1 South and crashed into a Moot home near the Stormvoël offramp on Sunday morning.

It is believed the accident happened just after 04:00 on Sunday morning.

According to Tshwane EMS spokesperson Lindsay Mnguni, emergency services are still busy on the scene.

“The truck lost control and crashed into a house with two occupants. They have been transported to the hospital by private ambulances in stable condition after sustaining injuries.”
