“We’ve received reports of a white Toyota Corolla targeting people late at night at takeaway drive-thru in the Centurion area.

“The occupants are attempting to rob or grab cellphones from vehicles.”

Visser urged people to be cautious.

“When it comes to sitting in a vehicle, never sit in your parked vehicle without being conscious of your surroundings.”

He added that residents should have their keys ready and keep the doors locked and the windows closed.

“Do not leave bags, briefcases, or any valuables inside the car; rather, place these items in the boot. Out of sight, out of mind.

“When stopping behind another vehicle, leave enough space in front of your vehicle to make an emergency escape if necessary or from hijackers.”
