Centurion residents enjoy fine wines and spirits over the long weekend
Nine different wine farms showcased some of their best wines and spirits currently on the market at Whisk Wine Bar’s Vinefest.
Centurion residents spent their long weekend tasting some of the finest wines and spirits during this year’s Vinefest at the Whisk Wine Bar.
Operations manager Anele Mahoko says this year’s festival included every spirit that comes from a vine, including grappas and brandies, among others.
“We’re called Whisk Wine Bar, so it’s what we’re known for. We’ve always been known for having a premium, but very affordable selection when it comes to our wines and spirits that are always served in a family-friendly environment. That’s what we always try to showcase to our community,” Mahoko says.
Whisk Wine Bar has been hosting the festival every year since 2019 and Mahoko says depending on the weather, they have tried to host it every Women’s Day weekend.
“Looking at our market, the ladies are especially important to us because they bring families, which creates a wholesome vibe. When you make the ladies happy, you make everyone happy,” Mahoko says.

The gins were mixed with Grapetiser from one of Whisk Wine Bars’ sponsors, Coca-Cola.
Mahoko thanked KWV Wines for its partnership in making the Vinefest possible and whose wines will be part of the bar’s range soon.
The bar looks forward to hosting another tasting later this month, and in September with new partner Allée Bleue.
