Four suspects nabbed for possession of housebreaking tools
Police arrested the suspects, aged between 21 and 50, during a patrol in Olievenhoutbosch.
Police and Gauteng traffic wardens arrested four suspects in Olievenhoutbosch on Wednesday night, October 23, for possession of housebreaking equipment and a signal jammer.
Spokesperson Johan van Dyk said the suspects, aged between 21 and 50, were arrested during a routine patrol in the area after police officers noticed a suspicious-looking Toyota Corolla with four occupants.
He said after spotting the vehicle, police officers conducted a random search of the vehicle and discovered the housebreaking implements and signal jammer.
“The suspects were immediately arrested and transported to the Olievenhoutbosch police station.”

Van Dyk said a signal jammer is capable of disrupting various electronic signals, including cellphones, alarm systems, and car key remotes.

He said the device can compromise the security of residents and their properties.
“Residents are urged to remain vigilant and verify that their vehicles are securely locked by physically checking the door handles.”
He said the investigation is ongoing to determine if the suspects are linked to other crimes.
The four suspects are expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon.
