Shelter comes to abandoned young dog’s rescue and turns her life around
Kuma, who had deformed legs, has found a forever home and is recovering well with the help of splints.
Kuma, a 10-month-old dog who was found with her tiny legs bent and misformed, is recovering well two months after being rescued.
Fortunately, the young dog that had been abandoned and was suffering from severe malnutrition, has finally found a forever home.
Wetnose Animal Rescue Centre found Kuma and she was taken to a specialist.
Her legs had developed abnormally from being confined in a small space.

The shelter said Kuma’s ligaments shrank due to them not being stretched enough.
“When we brought her to a specialist, we learned that this was caused by severe malnutrition and being confined in a small space where she couldn’t move around.
“At only 10 months old, Kuma has already faced so much, but her spirit remains unbroken.”
The shelter said the specialist gave it the wonderful news that Kuma’s legs could be straightened with the help of splints.
It said Kuma should be on her way to full recovery after two months.
“Despite everything she’s been through, Kuma is among the happiest dogs we’ve ever met. Her joy is contagious, and we know she will make someone’s life so much brighter.”

It confirmed that Kuma has been adopted.
“Kuma has found her forever home, she now spends her days surrounded by new furry friends, with lots of room to run, play, and just be the happy, joyful dog we always knew she was.”
