VW Museum brings back the classics this weekend

There are about 40 classic cars on display, primarily Volkswagens however there are several other different classics on display as well.

Cor’s Diner opened its doors to the public for the opening of its VW Museum and entertainment area at the Centurion Classic Cars Museum.

Car enthusiasts and families just enjoying the day out were treated to some of the rarest motors throughout history, which are still in running condition to this day.

Diner owner Anton Lubbe says they had to open the new museum as they received more and more cars and needed more space.

“The reason why we opened the new museum is that we were starting to store cars all over different garages and things like that, so we opened this [museum] so people can come see all the cars at once,” Lubbe says.

There are about 40 classic cars on display, primarily Volkswagens, however, there are several other different classics on display as well.

“I think it’s an age thing. If you are my age, 60 years old and followed the hippie trend, cars like these – the Bettles, and the Kombies – are the cars we used to buy because they were the most affordable. You could cram a bunch of students into one and you’d be set,” Lubbe explains.

Attendees enjoyed performances by the Silver Creek Mountain Band, jumping castles and horse rides as well as a petting zoo for the kids.

“We want to turn this into a family venue, where you can sit and enjoy, be able to keep an eye on your kids playing, see some animals, some classic cars and enjoy the day,” he says.
