Legendary women to serenade Pretoria at upcoming event
Get to know the divas that will be performing at the Sun Bet Arena on Sunday, November 17.
Pretoria music lovers are set to be serenaded by three musical icons, with some having a career span of over 40 years as vocalists.
BlackByrd, Bonnie Tyler and Nádine plan to offer attendees a treat this Sunday as they take centre stage at Sun Bet Arena.
They addressed the media yesterday, sharing their excitement and expectations for the highly-anticipated concert.
Welsh songstress Bonnie Tyler, hailing from Skewen, Neath, Wales, is renowned for her powerful voice and hits like “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and “Holding Out for a Hero”.
With a career spanning over 40 years, Tyler has solidified her status as a music legend.
Her work has earned her three Grammy Award nominations and three Brit Award nominations (including twice for British Female Solo Artist), among other accolades.
Other hits by Tyler fans can look forward to hearing are: “It’s a Heartache”, “Have You Ever Seen the Rain?” and “Faster Than the Speed of Night”.
South African songbird Nádine was born and raised in the city of Durban.
She is a South African Afrikaans pop singer, best known for the hit song “Kaapse Draai”.
Nádine has also recorded several songs in English.
She spoke of the honour of sharing the stage with her idols in an upcoming concert this weekend.
“It’s amazing to be part of this moment,” Nádine said.
“When you’re a true artist and you look after yourself and your talent, you get to a point where you do a sound check and no one can tell the difference.”
Cape Town’s BlackByrd, emerging from the Mother City, vowed to bring “craziness and character” to the performance, blending solo and collaborative songs.
“We will surprise the audience with our energy and talent,” BlackByrd promised.
BlackByrd is a South African pop trio and was formed in 2012. Currently, it consists of Tarryn Lamb, Tasha and Tasché Burger.
Their sound is firmly rooted in pop-country with ballads about love and heartbreak.
With their combined talent and experience, they promise that Sunday’s concert will be an unforgettable experience.
