Laudium, Atteridgeville reservoirs scheduled to be shut off this week
The supply shutdown is to reconnect an old pipe back to both reservoirs.
Residents of Laudium and Atteridgeville may be without water for nine hours this week as the metro plans to connect a 500mm pipe along the system on January 15.
In a recent statement, the Tshwane metro said the work is scheduled from 08:00-17:00.
“The scope of work to be carried out includes the reconnection of the existing 500mm to the Atteridgeville HL Reservoir, while the new 700 mm diameter pipe will supply the Laudium Reservoir. The main objective of commissioning the two pipes is to have a backup supply for both reservoirs should any challenges arise in future,” the statement reads.
Both reservoirs will be filled before work commences, however, residents are still urged to use water sparingly.

– Claudius
– Erasmia
– Laudium
– Mooiplaats 355-JR
– Pretoria Town and Townlands 351-JR
– Atteridgeville
– Elandsfontein 352 JR
– Kwaggasrand
– Saulsville
– Schurweberg 488 JQ
– Skurweplaas 353 JR
– West Park
The city encourages residents to assist in conserving and using water sparingly by doing the following:
– Do not water gardens.
– Do not wash cars.
– Do not clean driveways or pavements using hose pipes.
– Do not fill swimming pools.
– Flush toilets only when necessary.
– Close a running tap while brushing your teeth.
– Reduce daily water usage as much as possible.
