Beloved TMPD Inspector killed in motorcycle accident

A beloved TMPD Inspector, KJ Mphuthi, also known as Slommy Titi, was killed in a motorcycle accident in Johannesburg on Sunday.

Friends, colleagues, and family are mourning the loss of beloved TMPD Inspector KJ Mphuthi, who tragically lost his life in an accident on Sunday.

According to Tshwane Metro Police Department spokesperson Isaac Mahamba, Mphuthi, also known as Slommy Titi, was involved in a fatal accident on Sunday at the N1 and N17 Road in the Johannesburg area.

“Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) confirms and deeply mourns the death of Mphuthi.

“He was not on duty at the time of his accident and was on his private motorcycle.”

Mahamba said Mphuthi started his career as a metro police officer in 2002.

“He was promoted to the rank of Inspector in 2015 and he served the TMPD for 22 years. At the time of his passing, he was deployed to the TMPD Task Team Unit.”

The Chief of Police Commissioner YCR Faro sends his heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. “Death be not proud.”
