SASSA beneficiaries are warned about a fraudulent eKYC link circulating and are advised to refrain from clicking suspicious links.

SASSA beneficiaries are being cautioned about a fraudulent eKYC link circulating online that is aimed at verifying information after grant applications.

The official eKYC system is currently down for maintenance, and beneficiaries are urged to avoid clicking on any suspicious links until further notice.

According to a post by SASSA, their teams are working tirelessly with the relevant departments to ensure that the system will be up and running as soon as possible.

“We would like to bring to your attention that there has been a fraudulent eKYC link circulating, which is being sent to beneficiaries to verify their information after grant applications. Please be advised that the official eKYC system is currently down for maintenance, and we are working tirelessly with the relevant departments to ensure that it will be up and running as soon as possible.

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Your security and trust are of the utmost importance to us.”

It furthermore said it would notify SASSA beneficiaries once the eKYC system is operational again.
