Suspect found with CAT arrested in Centurion

Police found more drugs hidden under a pillow at the suspects residence.

Police in Centurion have arrested a suspect after he was found with Methcathinone (CAT) in the Wierdabrug area on Tuesday.

Tshwane police spokesperson, Captain Johan van Dyk said the arrest follows an ongoing intelligence-driven operation conducted by the Wierdabrug Police and the Tshwane District Drug Task Team.

“Acting on credible information regarding the suspect’s activities, a well-coordinated observation operation was conducted over a period of time.

“Once the suspect’s modus operandi was established and the information verified, the team moved in to apprehend him.”

He said upon searching the suspect, officers discovered five small plastic-wrapped bags containing a white substance, along with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Further investigations led officers to the suspect’s residence in Olievenhoutbosch, where additional drugs were found hidden under a pillow.

“In total, 83.03g of Methcathinone (commonly known as CAT) was seized, along with an undisclosed amount of cash.”

Tshwane District Commissioner, Major-General Samuel Thine commended the officers for their outstanding work and unwavering dedication to ensuring the safety of the community.
