Cable theft sparks outage east of Pretoria
The maintenance team is currently on-site to assess the damage. The estimated time for restoration is not yet known.

Residents in several parts of Bronkhorstspruit are experiencing a power outage because of a cable theft incident on April 22.
According to Tshwane metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo, the matter is currently receiving full attention from the municipality as a team is out to restore the supply.
“The maintenance team is currently busy assessing the extent of the damage caused by these acts of theft to effect the necessary repair work,” he said.
He said the estimated time for restoration is not yet known, however, the city’s focus remains on restoring power to affected areas as quickly as possible.
The following areas are affected:
– Verster Park
– Cultura
– Light Industrial Area
– Part of Erasmus
– Riamar Park and nearby areas
– Zithobeni
Tshwane would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused and pleads for residents’ co-operation during this period of interruption.
