Beware fake job recruiters – Central police
Residents encountering such “recruiters” are urged to report them to local authorities.

The Pretoria Central police are advising residents to be aware of a recent scam concerning fake job offers.
The station received several phone calls regarding posts about police recruits asking for a R5 000 payment to secure these phoney positions.
Spokesperson Constable Thabang Nkhumise said payment of any kind for a job is corruption, and no recruiter would ask for money from any prospect.
“Please note that the SAPS has not advertised any posts for recruits, and we will not hire an external recruitment agency to recruit on behalf of the organisation. We are pleading with the community not to enter into any arrangement that asks for up-front payment via bank transfer, PayID or cash payout,” Nkhumise said.
Residents who encounter such “recruiters” are urged to report them to their local authorities.
To safeguard yourself, contact or visit the nearest station for inquiries and further ensure that the advertised post is legitimate.
Lastly, residents can visit the SAPS website www.saps.gov.za, send their complaint to complaintsnodalpoint@saps.gov.za or utilise MySAPS or contact the Crime Stop line on 08600 10111.
