TMPD reinforce by-law compliance in Tshwane
Businesses were inspected to see whether they comply with by-laws and follow regulations.
The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) conducted by-law enforcement operations in Tshwane recently.
According to TMPD, these compliance operations were carried out by regional members in Centurion, Mamelodi, Pretoria North, Koedoespoort, Garsfontein, The Orchards, Mapobane, and Hammanskraal.
“During these operations, businesses were inspected to ensure compliance with the metro’s by-laws and regulations.”
They said these operations aim to remove all hazardous products from shelves to safeguard the health of the public.
The initiative resulted in the identification and confiscation of several hazardous items and expired food products across establishments.
“These operations were carried out regularly to combat lawlessness within our communities, particularly targeting those who sell hazardous and expired food products to the public.
“In Mapobane, several illegally erected structures were demolished.”
In addition, they said two people were arrested for being in the country unlawfully, in contravention of the Immigration Act.
TMPD further said in another incident on May 6, its members conducted a road safety operation in Centurion.
Almost 90 Aarto infringement notices were issued to motorists in violation of the road traffic regulations, amounting to fines of R44 250.
The TMPD said they remain committed to upholding the law and creating a safe and compliant environment for all residents.
