Pretoria’s best-kept music secret hits the right notes

A sun-drenched Saturday, easy rhythms, and a crowd that came to chill - Somewhere in a Garden turned Brooklyn Square Park into a laid-back haven for live music lovers.

Pretoria’s Somewhere in a Garden brought mellow Saturday energy to Brooklyn Square Park with a relaxed mix of sunshine, shade and standout local music.

Not quite a festival, but more than a picnic, the event featured performances by crowd favourites Zebra and Tidal Waves.

Started during lockdown by a group of young organisers passionate about live music, Somewhere in a Garden has grown into a loved and easy-going gathering. The setting – leafy trees, open lawns, and soft winter light – offered the perfect escape for anyone looking to wind down without missing out.

The crowd was youthful but mixed — stylish groups of friends, couples on blankets, and locals looking to catch a good show. Everyone found their rhythm, and the vibe stayed cool and carefree from start to finish.
