Several streets around Loftus Versfeld Stadium will be temporarily closed on Friday due to a soccer match.
Mamelodi Sundowns FC will face Stade Alien FC in a CAF Champions League match scheduled to kick off at 20:00.
The Tshwane Metro Police Department has warned motorists to expect road closures and traffic disruptions in the area.
TMPD spokesperson Isaac Mahamba said several streets around the stadium will be closed from 14:00 until midnight.
“The affected streets around the stadium will be closed from 14:00 until 00:00,” said Mahamba.
Mahamba said the following streets will be affected: Park, Kirkness, Farenden and Bond streets, Lynnwood and University roads,
and Walton Jameson Avenue.
Motorists are advised to use alternative routes, such as, Francis Baard, Pretorius, Stanza Bopape, Justice Mahomed streets and Florence Ribeiro Avenue.
Mahamba added that officers from the TMPD and the South African Police Service will be deployed to monitor all affected streets and assist with traffic management.
Motorists travelling near the stadium are urged to plan their routes accordingly to avoid delays.
