Vehicle theft suspect nabbed in Sinoville
A Toyota Tazz that was reported stolen the previous week was recovered in Sinoville after vigilant security officers tracked the vehicle and assisted in an arrest.
A co-ordinated effort between ProShield Security and Sinoville SAPS led to the recovery of a reported stolen vehicle and the arrest of a suspect in Sinoville on July 29.
According to the security company, information regarding a stolen motor vehicle travelling within the Montana and Sinoville areas was circulated among security and law enforcement teams.
Members of ProShield Security soon identified a white Toyota Tazz, matching the circulated description, travelling along Zambezi Road.
Security officers immediately verified the vehicle’s registration details and maintained visual observation while confirming its status.
The vehicle was positively identified as one reported stolen the previous week.
A co-ordinated operation was then launched to intercept the vehicle safely. The operation resulted in the successful recovery of the Toyota Tazz and the arrest of a suspect.
ProShield Security Services’ Mark Surgeon praised the teamwork and vigilance that contributed to the successful outcome.
“This recovery highlights the importance of rapid information sharing and strong co-operation between private security companies and the South African Police Service.
“Our members acted swiftly and professionally after identifying the vehicle, ensuring that it was safely intercepted and recovered,” said Surgeon.
He added that proactive patrols and close co-operation between role players remain key in combating vehicle-related crime in the northern parts of Pretoria.

The suspect was apprehended without incident or injury, and the scene was secured before being handed over to Sinoville SAPS officers for further investigation and processing.
Surgeon said the successful recovery demonstrates the value of remaining alert and responding quickly to crime intelligence.
“Every successful recovery removes a stolen vehicle from criminal circulation and sends a strong message that crime will not go unchallenged. We remain committed to working alongside law enforcement agencies to protect our communities,” he said.
The recovered Toyota Tazz was transported to the Pretoria West Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit, where further investigations will be conducted.
