Recent drug arrests in Soshanguve resulted in hundreds of thousands of rand worth of drugs being seized by the metro police.

The latest arrest came in on August 22 when the TMPD drug unit arrested two men and a woman at the Mabopane station in Soshanguve for being in possession of and dealing drugs.

After the trio were taken into custody, metro police seized drugs found on them valued at R100 000. These drugs include heroin, CAT, crystal meth, and nyaope.

On August 18, TMPD officers arrested two suspects in Soshanguve for the possession of illegal firearms as well as for having over one kilogram of dagga after receiving information about the pair’s activities.

In a separate incident the same day, the metro police arrested a 47-year-old man in Hammanskraal for drug dealing and possession after finding over 370 packets of nyaope in his home.

The information leading to the arrest came from a tip-off.

On August 14, the TMPD drug unit arrested two men in Soshanguve while they were stealing cables. After the suspects were taken into custody, crystal meth, ecstasy, CAT and heroin were found on them.

They are charged with possession of illegal substances.
