Wierdabrug police still searching for brutally killed man’s family

Wierdabrug police are still searching for the family of an alleged robber that was ‘chopped’ to death with a panga in Heuweloord.

Three months after an alleged robber was “chopped” to death with a panga, police are still searching for the man’s family.

The deceased, believed to be between 30 and 40 years old, was found dead in an open field in Heuweloord, Centurion, on May 21.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Divine Nkuna said it was alleged that the deceased was robbing a person of his belongings when his face was cut open with a panga.

Nkuna said the man’s face was cut in half.

“The face was badly chopped and deformed. He can’t be identified,” she said.

“He was wearing a black beanie, black sweater, black pants and blue and white Adidas sneakers.”

Nkuna urged anyone who may have information regarding the deceased or the incident to contact her on 079 694 7364 or 079 279 9062.
