Mamelodi East police have asked the public to help in locating two Mamelodi men who recently went missing on different dates.

Ralfie Senkomane Chauke (37) from Alaska informal settlement was last seen by a family member on October 1 and Joseph Lamola (37) from Mamelodi East, also last seen by a family member on October 18 around 07:00.

“At the time of his disappearance, Ralfie was wearing long grey trousers, a sky blue T-shirt and white tekkies,” said police spokesperson Constable Lethabo Mashilaone.

His wife, Reginah Makofane, reported him missing on October 10 after searching for him for days.

Mafokane said the last time she saw her husband was around 09:00 on October 1 when he was on his way to see a friend and visit the mall afterwards.

“However, he never returned home and we only started searching for him late that night,” said Makofane.

“This is not the first time he went missing. He will always come back but he has never been missing for so long.”

She said the night before his disappearance, his colleagues had come looking for him to collect R750 he owed them but had not returned since he went missing.

“We have searched for him almost everywhere: at hospitals, squatter camps, and relatives’ homes, with no sign of him,” she said.

She said they even went to his workplace and were told that he had not been to work in days.

Joseph Lamola (37) from Mamelodi East went missing on October 18.

Mashiloane said Lamola from Mamelodi East was last seen wearing a green T-shirt and blue trousers.

His brother reported him missing after he went missing for a couple of days.

“They have searched almost everywhere for him and nobody knows his whereabouts.”

“There is no waiting period to report a missing person,” Mashiloane concluded.
