Mnandi, parts of the Copper Leaf estate without water
Residents are complaining they have been without water for more than 12 consecutive days.

Parts of Mnandi and Copper Leaf in Centurion were without water again on Monday morning due to power failures in the area.
Tshwane metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said recent power failures and high temperatures impacted the water supply in these areas.
“All the reported major leaks within this distribution zone are repaired or isolated to allow the Mnandi Reservoir to recover,” said Mashigo.
Residents were made aware of the situation through the metro’s social media platforms as well as their respective ward councillors.
He said even though residents in that respective area adhered to the metro’s call to use water sparingly, high consumption affected the Mnandi reservoirs.
Residents are complaining they have been without water for more than 12 consecutive days.
A resident in the area, Tracy Kensey said the only communication the municipality was issuing was that the water blackouts in their area were due to over-usage.
“It took the municipality four days to fix a leak last week until I took it upon myself to go fetch them to fix the leakage. Our councillor is aware of the situation and he told us he will report it to the officials,” Kensey said.
Meanwhile, Mahigo said water had since been restored in the area, adding that only a portion of the estate was affected by the water blackouts in the area.
The metro has been struggling with water shortages, which resulted in the drop of levels in some parts of Pretoria.
The municipality said the reason some parts of the city were without water was due to the system supplying eastern parts of Pretoria that has regressed.
