Flying squad arrests suspects for possession of drugs, stolen vehicles

Members of the flying squad have had their boots on the ground recovering stolen vehicles in the north of Pretoria.

The Tshwane flying squad arrested a 30-year-old man for drug possession in Winterveldt yesterday.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Alfred Legodi said officers reacted to information received by the crime intelligence group and found the suspect with 67 small plastic bags of dagga and another weighing 0.402kg.

“The suspect is expected to appear in court within 48 hours.”

Members of the flying squad have had their boots on the ground recovering stolen vehicles in the north of Pretoria.

The officers recovered the following vehicles in the area:

– A white NP200 was recovered in Winterveldt that had been reported stolen in Pretoria West. The vehicle was valued at R90 000 and was taken to the Pretoria West pound.

– A previously hijacked Audi A4 was recovered in Loate and no suspects were arrested. The vehicle is valued at R390 000 and was taken to the pound.

– The black BMW reported stolen was recovered on Lavender Road in the north of Pretoria.

Tshwane flying squad officers also arrested a 47-year-old man for possession of a suspected hijacked truck and an eight-channel car remote jammer.

“Officers responded to a lookout posted by a Johannesburg team of a hijacked white Scania Superlink truck. When they spotted the truck, they followed it to Kameeldrift where the arrest was made and the driver detained by the Kameeldrift SAPS.
