Help the Animal Ambulance complete their wall

The completion of the border wall will allow them to relax knowing that none of their precious farm animals can be stolen easily.

The Animal Ambulance based in Murray Hill, north of Pretoria, kicked off its annual Build the Wall charity drive this week.

Funds raised during the drive will be used to get building materials to continue building their boundary wall.

Through the years the drive has allowed them to add 40m of the wall to the existing parameter each year; however, last year was not as successful as the previous years and they were only able to add 20m.

Marie Conradie, the founder of the organisation, said the completion of the border wall will allow them to not only relax knowing that none of their precious farm animals can be stolen easily, but will also allow them more safe and more secure areas where the animals can be left to explore.

“All of us at the Animal Ambulance take pride in providing a safe environment for all the beautiful souls that have somehow found their way to us.

“This wall will help us keep these commitments that we have made to every animal.”

The organisation hopes to see the massive project that has been ongoing for years finally completed but this can only be possible through generous donations.

Animal Ambulance is a 24hr emergency shelter for sick and abused animals.

The animal shelter was established in 2002 and exists entirely on donations from individuals and fundraising events, as they receive no funding from the government.

The purpose of The Animal Ambulance is to aid abused and sick animals who they believe without their help would die an often painful death.

After the animal is rehabilitated, they offer them up for adoption in exchange for a fee.

At the shelter, the animals are treated as family and are not kept outdoors, in a cage or a kennel.

Make 2023 count by making a difference in the lives of their fur babies by purchasing a ticket and for every ticket purchased the shelter will donate one printed puzzle to the Whaikana Centre that works with special needs children.

Donors can purchase a ticket for R350 by visiting www.quicket.co.za

The drive will close on April 11.
