Partly cloudy weather with a chance of late thunderstorms this weekend

The eastern parts of the country were issued with a Level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms, but Pretoria looks set for a milder weekend.

Pretoria looks set for a mild weekend in terms of the weather as many celebrate National Beer Day.

The SA weather service (Saws) has predicted partly cloudy weather, with mild temperatures and a chance of late thunderstorms for Pretoria this weekend.

This is despite Saws issuing a Yellow Level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms across the eastern parts of the country, from the southern parts of KwaZulu-Natal to Mbombela up north.

Friday is expected to reach a maximum of 27°C, with a partly cloudy morning and a 60% chance of showers and thundershowers in the afternoon.

Saturday is expected to reach 28°C, with partly cloudy conditions for the morning with a 60% chance of late showers and thundershowers.

Sunday will also reach a maximum of 28°C with partly cloudy weather and a slight 30% chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon, but a mild partly cloudy evening.

Next week will begin with more of the same weather patterns for Monday – a maximum of 28°C, partly cloudy mornings and later thunderstorms.

Tuesday will reach a maximum of 29°C and Wednesday 28°C, before Thursday brings a dip in temperatures with a maximum of 24°C and thundershowers throughout the day.
