Clear skies start off week before mid-week rains take Tshwane into weekend

Comfortable summer temperatures will drop as low as 23°C with the rain.

This week will begin with clear skies and scattered clouds, but rainy cool weather is predicted from the mid-week in Pretoria, according to forecasts by the SA weather service (SAWS).

Rain will persist into the weekend, with early forecasts showing the weather clearing up into next week.

 

Monday is expected to reach a maximum of 30° C, with clear skies in the morning, and a partly cloudy afternoon.

Overnight lows on Tuesday are expected to reach 18° C, with a maximum of 30° C during the day. The day will be sunny and clear before a partly cloudy night.

Residents are advised to don sunblock and a hat as the sunburn UV index is predicted to be “extreme” for these days.

Wednesday will be cloudy throughout, beginning with overnight lows of 17° C and reaching a maximum of 27° C. Showers and thundershowers are predicted from the afternoon into the night.

Thursday will be cool, with overnight lows of 17° C, and a maximum of 23° C. Large amounts of rain throughout the day with showers and thundershowers are forecast.

Friday will begin with showers and thundershowers, with a minimum of 16° C and a maximum of 26° C. Rainy weather looks set to break by the evening.

The weekend brings a slight chance of rain, with mild maximums of 26° C on Saturday and 28° C on Sunday. Conditions are expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy.
