Sosh cops take awareness campaign to Block H
The police urged residents to join them to curb crime in the area.

Soshanguve police conducted an awareness campaign on Tuesday, February 7 aimed at encouraging local community members to work with police to keep the area safe.
Spokesperson Constable Nhlanhla Zondi said that members of the community were receptive to the crime awareness campaign.
The campaign targeted Block H where the Soshanguve police had the day before arrested two suspects with three illegal firearms and ammunition.
The arrests came after police officers followed up on a tip from a concerned resident that two men were in the possession of a shotgun, AK47 rifle and a Norinco pistol as well as 10 bullets.
He said the recovered firearms had their serial numbers filed off
Zondi said that the campaign was important for the residents of Block H, because “the area is among the problematic areas in terms of house robberies, street robberies, business burglaries and carjacking”.
“SAPS Soshanguve saw the need to engage with the local community and ensure it knew and understood what is happening around.”
Zondi said that the campaign team distributed crime prevention pamphlets among the community members, and officers engaged with them directly.
He urged residents to work closely with the police to curb crime within the area.
