Tshwane municipality’s e-services are down
Tshwane residents are unable to purchase electricity pre-paid due to a system breakdown. At this point, it is not yet known when services would be restored by the agency.
The Tshwane municipality’s systems are offline, impacting all services offered through the metro’s e-services.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the municipality said the State Information Technology Agency (Sita) internet primary and secondary links were down in Gauteng, Mpumalanga, North West, and KwaZulu-Natal.
The municipality said due to the breakdown, residents would be unable to purchase electricity pre-paid or use other services that require them to use e-services.
“This means that electricity pre-paid customers won’t be able to vend,” the metro said in a statement.
The downtime has also affected call centre lines.
According to the municipality, Sita was assessing the cause of the breakdown, adding that it would update its customers on the development and when systems would be restored.
The municipality did not say what other alternatives residents should take if, and when, they would want to purchase or pay for their services should they run out of electricity.
At this point, it is not yet known when services would be restored by the agency.
