Case against man accused of TUT student’s murder postponed to next month

Thusi will remain in police custody until March 30.

The 23-year-old man accused of the murder of Ntokozo Mayenzi Xaba (20), a TUT student, appeared in the Pretoria magistrate’s court on Monday.

According to reports, the case was postponed to March 30 but the National Prosecuting Authority could not yet confirm this.

Ngcebo Thuso has also provisionally abandoned his bail bid, according to reports.

Thuso is facing a charge of murder and defeating the administration of justice in the killing of Xaba on February 1.

Xaba’s lifeless body with multiple stab wounds was found by friends who had gone to check up on her that morning.

The matter was reported to the police and Thuso was arrested the following day. He is remanded in custody.

Xaba was a third-year integrated communication student at Tshwane University of Technology in Soshanguve.
