-Lion on the loose along the R511 in Centurion
Motorists were panicked when they saw a lion on the loose on the R511 near the Hennops Hiking Trail on Wednesday afternoon.
Blurry images of the lion were spread widely on social media, but Arthur Crewe of SRU Strategic Response Rescue Unit assured residents that all measures were put in place to track and capture the lion.
The lion escaped captivity when it was being transported from one game farm to another.

– Dexter has been found after a month
The owner of a Mastif Boerboel was left distraught when his best friend went missing on February 5.
It is reported that Dexter was out on a stroll with his owner and family in Irene when an off-road vehicle frightened him, causing him to free himself of his leash and run away.
After a month intensive searching, Dexter was found and reunited with his very relieved owner on Sunday.

– Young Centurion star is a hit at American Idols
Stefan Benz (16) was a hit with the judges at the 21st season of American Idols.
American pop singer Katy Perry was so impressed with his rendition of ‘One Last Cry’ that she told him in his mother tongue, ‘Jy gaan Hollywood toe’.
Benz has proven his musical abilities since a young age and moved to California in 2020 to pursue his dreams, and the journey has paid off thus far.

– New Boschkop detective has an open-door policy
Newly appointed Boschkop police station commander, Captain Marias Smit, said he wants to create a strong relationship with his community by having an open-door policy with all members of the public.
He believes that getting to know the community will better help him and his team tackle crime effectively by allowing for visible policing and thus disrupting criminal activities.

– Residents watch monthly pilot training for a good cause
Pretoria residents gathered at the Swartkop Airforce Base to enjoy the monthly training regiments for pilots over the weekend.
Aircraft enthusiast were also given the opportunity to delight in displays of old aircraft while watching the budding pilots fly above them.

– Shop in Wierdapark caught with drugs and illegal products
The Wierdabrug police arrested two men for possession of drugs and illegal products at a shop in Wierdapark on March 5.
The police received a tip-off from the community and obtained a search and seizure warrant and the two men were swiftly arrested.
