The Cullinan police management welcomed the sentencing and the hard work by detective Constable Thabiso Aphane, who was assigned to investigate the case.
The Cullinan magistrate’s court this week sentenced accused Tinotenda Muzori (26) to six years imprisonment for business robbery and cable theft.
Cullinan police management welcomed the sentencing and lauded the hard work of detective Constable Thabiso Aphane assigned to investigate the case, said police spokesperson Sergeant Connie Moganedi.
She said the accused was arrested for cable theft and business robberies committed in June 2021.
Moganedi said Aphane, “worked tirelessly on the case”.
Muzori stole copper and an electrical appliance that were estimated at R55 000.
Cullinan station commander Lieutenant-Colonel AC Gertzen commended Aphane for his “excellent job” following Muzori’s sentencing.
“We believe this sentence will send a strong message to others who think of committing similar offences,” said Gertzen.
Police asked the public to report any suspicious-looking persons to the police at 08600 10111.
