A puppy that was saved by the Wetnose animal rescue centre is recovering well from surgery and is looking for a new home together with his family.

The puppy, named Wesley, was found by a compassionate worker who did his best to love and care for the pup and his family but could no longer provide for the animals in his care on a daily basis.

In a post on social media, the centre said the worker called it for assistance with the animals that he could no longer afford to care of.

When centre staff arrived it established that Wesley required urgent medical attention as his two front legs were severely broken and started to grow crooked, he needed an urgent and expensive operation to fix them.

The other puppies and their mother only had tick bite wounds, nothing as severe as Wesley’s injuries.

Through donations the pup was able to receive the operation and has recovered well enough to walk on all his legs without issue.

“Now he is running around and playing with other dogs like nothing ever happened.

“His brothers, sisters and mom are also recovering brilliantly from the tick bite wounds they had,” said Wetnose MD Debbie Buys.

While the animals are recovering, the organisation is calling on all animal lovers to look into giving these dogs a second chance by welcoming them into their home through adoption.
