Pretoria residents in north to be without water for eight hours
“A water supply interruption is scheduled to connect the newly installed water network pipeline to the existing water rectification system.”
Tshwane residents who get their water via the Suiderberg reservoir will be without water for more than eight hours on Thursday, June 1.
This was as the Tshwane municipality is set to install a new water network pipeline.
According to the metro, the planned interruptions would commence as early as 08:00 until 17:00.
“A water supply interruption is scheduled to connect the newly installed water network pipeline to the existing water rectification system,” it said in a statement.
The metro apologised for any inconvenience.
It also urged residents in the affected areas to preserve any water they could use for household purposes during the interruption.
The areas affected include Kopkrap 316-JR, Lady Selborne, Mountain View, Pretoria North, Suidberg and Zandfontein 317-JR.
Local ward councillor Yolanda Duvenage told residents in a community WhatsApp group that residents should prepare themselves as it could take hours before water will be restored.
“It will affect the entire north, including Florauna, Dorandia, Wolmer and Pretoria North.
“Please prepare for this as it might take up to four hours after they opened for taps to have water,” she said.
