Carols in the Moot once again celebrates festive hope and community goodwill

Join the Carols in the Moot celebration, presented by the Carols in the Moot committee. Sing Christmas carols and worship during the 3-day event. All are welcome!

The annual festive Carols in the Moot presented by the CMC (Christ for Moot fraternal) committee is almost here.

Over three days the community will come together to worship and sing Christmas Carols during various events.

Everyone is invited to join the celebrations.

Artists such as Bernice West, Piet Smit and Retief Burger will be performing at the Doxa Deo Moot Church at 1245 Ben Swart Street, Môregloed.

For all the performances except one (Bernice West), the entrance fee to the Carols in the Moot at Doxa Deo Moot are non-perishables shown here by Charlene Lobo, JD Mostert and pastor Japie Venter.

Pastor Japie Venter of Doxa Deo Moot says this is an opportunity for the residents of the Moot to get together and find hope for the coming Christmas season.

“We would like people to feel that they are being served with the Word and the Christmas message. Last year’s proceedings were a great blessing for many. We would like to ensure that those who participate in the Carols in the Moot this year once again experience this feeling,” said Venter.

He says the cooperation between 11 congregations is making the Carols in the Moot events possible.

Last year more than a 1 000 people attended the events.

“The country is so divided, but here in this community we can still happily come together to bring the Good News of salvation through Jesus this Christmas season,” says Venter.

The events were created in such a way that all age groups in the Moot are catered for.

An entrance fee will get you into the Friday evening show, that is especially catered for the youth.

For the other events, the Carols in the Moot team charges an entrance fee of non-perishable food such as dry packets of food like rice or canned food.

The collected non-perishables will be distributed in the week after the events between those in need in the Moot.
