Double murder suspect case postponed to December
The suspect is accused of killing a couple outside a nightclub in Pretoria Central.
The case against double murder-accused Samuel Masemola (37) of Pretoria West has been postponed to December 11.
Masemola earlier abandoned his bail application in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on November 24.
He is facing two counts of murder for the shooting of couple Gratitude Maluleke and Arnold Andzani Mashaba and an attempted murder charge.
“It is alleged that in the early hours of October 15, Masemola was driving out of the parking lot of Blue Room nightclub in Pretoria Central and nearly ran over a woman who was standing with her husband and their friend,” said National Prosecution Authority spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana.
“The husband and the friend stopped the vehicle and started to argue with the accused. During the argument, Masemola took out a gun from the boot of his vehicle and started shooting. Two people died on the scene, while the friend escaped with gunshot wounds to his leg.”
On November 13, police received a tip-off regarding Masemola’s whereabouts and called him to come to the court, where he was identified by the complainant and subsequently arrested.
The matter has been postponed to December 11 for court allocation.
Any resident with information about the case is urged to contact the local authorities.
