Two in custody after car-theft linked vehicle pulled over in Sinoville

Multiple vehicle break-in implements, a jamming device and numerous number plates believed to be linked to criminal activities were confiscated.

Two suspects were arrested in Sinoville on Monday afternoon following a co-ordinated intelligence-driven operation targeting a vehicle allegedly linked to the theft of high-end vehicles in Pretoria.

The operation took place at 15:15 at the corner of Sefako Makgatho Drive and Doctor van der Merwe Road.

The multi-agency team included Sinoville SAPS, Crime Intelligence Tshwane District, the Sinoville CPF, ProShield Tactical Unit, GAC Security, Echo-1 Security, SAICB, Lakes Security Forum management and the Lapua Strike Force.

According to ProShield Security Services, a white Toyota Hilux single cab suspected of being involved in vehicle thefts was moving within the Sinoville precinct.

Their members immediately mobilised and strategically closed off exit routes while awaiting the vehicle’s arrival.

The vehicle was soon spotted, and members swiftly moved in, apprehending two suspects.

Authorities confiscated multiple vehicle break-in implements, a jamming device, and numerous number plates believed to be linked to criminal activities.

Julian Janse van Rensburg, Operational Manager for Reaction Services at ProShield, said the success of the operation highlights the strength of collaboration between law enforcement, private security and community structures.

“This arrest demonstrates what can be achieved when intelligence is shared effectively and all role-players respond swiftly.

“The teamwork on the ground was professional and well-coordinated, which ultimately led to the suspects being taken into custody without incident,” said Janse van Rensburg.
