Appeal to help find missing teen girl

Rebaone Tshilo was last seen by her mother at home on February 16.

Police need help in locating Rebaone Tshilo (16), who was last seen in Seven Seven informal settlement near Eerste Fabrieke in Mamelodi East.

She was last seen at her home on February 16 by her mother.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Daphney Maila said her mother states that she was at home eating supper with her family, when her daughter went out as if she was going to the toilet, but never returned.

Maila said the following day, the mother checked with her neighbours and her daughters’ friends, and they confirmed that they saw her at Seven Seven informal settlement around 11:00.

She said she could not see clearly what she was wearing at the time of her disappearance in the night.

The police have started with investigations and pleaded with the public to assist in locating Tshilo.

Maila said the investigating officers searched around the area but found nothing.

“They asked the neighbour, who confirmed that she saw her the following day at around 11:00, next to her yard and she looked fine, with no sign of distress,” said Maila.

The police reminded the public that there is no waiting period before a person can be reported missing.

Anyone with information about where she can be found is asked to call Mamelodi East SAPS on 012 815 7079 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.

Alternatively, members of the public can send information via the MySAPS App.

All information will be treated as confidential, and callers can choose to remain anonymous.
