Rugby
Schools Rugby: Centurion, Eldoraigne and Garsfontein will all be in action this weekend in the quarter final of the Tuks series which will be presented by Hoërskool Centurion. The action starts at 08:00.
SupeRugby: It’s almost unbelievable that the Super Rugby season already has passed the halfway mark. This weekend the Lions will enjoy a break, but the rest of the local teams are all in action.
The Stormers are still on tour and they play on Saturday at 13:45 (SA time) against the Western Force in Perth.
The Bulls tackle the Sharks at 17:00 in Durban and after that the Cheetahs will play against the Reds in Bloemfontein at 19:00.
Athletics
This coming weekend (17-18 of April) it’s time for the most important track and field athletics meeting of the year. The Senior South African Championships will be presented in Stellenbosch. The action will start daily at 09:00.
Soccer
ABSA Premiership is continuing this week. While Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United already completed their obligations on Wednesday, respectively against Bloemfontein Celtic and Platinum Stars, AmaTuks will be in action against Ajax Cape Town on Friday. The game kicks off at 20:00.
Cricket
The Indian Premier League (IPL) is still ongoing and a number of South Africans will be in action again this weekend.
On 16 April at 16:00 (SA time) the Sunrisers Hyderabad, with Dale Steyn in their midst, will play against the Rajasthan Royals, where Rusty Theron and Chris Morris are part of the squad.
On Friday 16 April at 16:30 it’s time for the game between the Chennai Super Kings (Faf du Plessis and Kyle Abbot) against the Delhi Daredevils (JP Duminy, Imran Tahir, Albie Morkel and Quinton de Kock).
On 18 April, two games will be played. Steyn’s Sunrisers Hyderabad will play against the Delhi Daredevils at 12:30 and later the day (16:30) the Kings Punjab (David Miller) will play against the Kolkata Knight Riders (Morné Morkel and Johan Botha).
On Sunday, Theron, Morris, Du Plessis and Abbot may be in action again as the Rajasthan Royals play against Chennai Super Kings at 12:30. Later the day (16:30) the Royal Challengers Banglore with AB de Villiers, David Wiese and Rilee Rossouw in their midst will take on the Mumbai Indians, where Marchant de Lange could be part of the action.
