Sport Highlights 27 – 29 November 2015
With the December school holidays steadily getting closer and the heat that is striking again here in Gauteng, there's luckily a few sports events that can keep South Africans in front of the TV this weekend.
With the poor performance of the Proteas in India, there may be no international cricket action to look forward to this weekend.
Cricket
It is debatable whether the third Test between South Africa and India in Nagpur will reach the fifth day (Sunday). By the end of day two (Thursday), the game already reached the final innings and the Proteas had to score more than 300 runs to win, while India hunted 8 wickets. Play starts at 06:00 (SA time) every day.
There will also be action this weekend, in the Ram Slam T20 Cricket challenge. The Titans only play in one game. They travel to Port Elizabeth to take on the Warriors at St George’s Park on Saturday 28 November. Play will start at 18:00.
Golf
The so-called “African Major” (Nedbank Golf Challenge) is getting closer and this weekend, golf lovers could look forward to the famous Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek course in the Lowveld.
Athletics
The famous Muller Potgieter road race offers three choices to participants. In this race, which starts and ends at the Voortrekker Monument, runners can choose between a 16km road race, a 10km race and a 5km fun run. The two longer races start at 06:00 while the fun run will start at 06:10.
Soccer
Soccer fans can look forward to seeing Bafana Bafana in action again this weekend. The South Africans play against Senegal in the Stade Leopold Sedar Senghor on Saturday night. The game starts at 17:00.
