Supersport United and Mamelodi Sundowns will be eyeing the PSL title after failing in their bids for continental honours this season.
The Pretoria teams participated in the CAF Confederation Cup and CAF Champions League respectively.
Supersport lost 2-1 on aggregate to TP Mazembe in the final at the Lucas Moripe stadium in Atteridgeville after the second leg finished 0-0 on Saturday night.
They had been beaten 2-1 in the first leg in the Democratic Republic of Congo two weeks ago.
Despite their disappointing loss, United will be encouraged by the fact that they had already claimed the MTN8 Cup earlier in the season.
The Pretoria sides have played seven games fewer than their league opponents due to their participation in the continental competitions.

Supersport coach Eric Tinkler knows that two wins this week could see his side back in the top five which would give his team momentum going into mid-December games.
If Matsatsantsa won their four games scheduled before the Christmas break, they would become firm favourites to claim the title.
Earlier this week, the club made it clear they would prioritise the league.
Sundowns have been blowing hot and cold this season.
The defending champions were eliminated from the CAF Champions League two months ago, then bowed out of the MTN and Telkom Knockout cups.
Downs coach Pitso Mosimane was disappointed following their goalless draw to Chippa United at the weekend.
“It’s a very good game of football, we tried our best but our best was not good enough, to be honest. But we got numerous chances and open ones. It’s just the technique hey. Percy (Tau) had so many chances but it was a good game, entertaining game on a Saturday,” Mosimane told SuperSport TV.

Sundowns controlled the game but failed to convert their dominance into the three points they needed to climb to second in the log.
“We controlled the midfield in the second half and that’s why (Hlompho) Kekana didn’t have the legs in the end and we brought in Mshishi (Themba Zwane). We brought in Anthony (Laffor) and (Yannick) Zakri but unfortunately, we could not get much,” Mosimane said.
Sundowns will can claim top spot at home with a win over leaders Baroka FC on Tuesday evening.
After 12 games, the difference between first and 16th is only nine points, meaning every team is in with a chance for the league title.
