United beats Uptown
Uptown suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Samdoria United in an entertaining Super League clash at the Muckleneuk sports ground in Mamelodi on Sunday.

United striker Lucky Mahlaule found the back of the net in the 72nd minute to seal a well-deserving victory.
Uptown dominated the early stages, but the home side wasted several opportunities to score.
Perhaps the most obvious chance was when Bongani Mazibuko fired wide with only the keeper to beat after a well-weighted pass from Oupa Ndala in the 35th minute.
The game went into half time with nil-all.
The visitors however turned the tables on Uptown, showing their upper hand.
Whatever United coach Bheki Mashele told his team during the break seemed to have worked for them.
Sometimes they played breathtaking football that kept their fans on their feet.

Mahlaule broke the deadlock with the header after a well-placed square pass from Ayanda Skota.
Mashele said the match had been difficult in the first half.
“We started playing our normal game in the second half by bringing in Tsiamo Mokoena,” Mashele said.
He said Mokoena was a good footballer who, together with other players, kept the home side running until they were tired.
“I told my team to show our opponents that we are technically better than them.”
Uptown coach Simon Motau blamed fatigue for their defeat.

“The problem is that we played a game yesterday and the boys were tired,” Motau said.
He said though the loss was a setback in their bid for the Super League title, they were still optimistic they would lift the trophy come end of the season.
Motau said they would go back to the drawing board to draft a plan for winning the coming matches.
“Our goal is to win the league.”
