SPORT: NBA Africa game teams announced
The NBA Game 2018 has a star-studded lineup in honour of the Nelson Mandela centenary.
It’s all systems go for the NBA Africa Game in basketball to mark the centenary of Nelson Mandela.
The NBA Africa Game 2018 will feature a Team Africa versus a Team World.
It is scheduled to be played on Saturday, 4 August at 17:00 at the Sun Arena.
Team Africa will comprise players born in Africa or with direct family ties to the continent.
Team World will be made up of players from the rest of the world.

Under the guidance of Miami Heat assistant coach Juwan Howard, Team Africa boasts big names such as Serge Ibaka, Luol Deng and Cheick Diallo.
Other team Africa members include Ian Mahinmi, Al-Farouq Aminu, Bismack Biyombo, Joel Embiid, Evan Fournier, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot and Pascal Siakam.
Team world boasts Dallas Maverick’s Dennis Smith Jr, Danilo Gallinari from the LA Clippers and John Collins from the Atlanta Hawks.
Other big names included in the Team World roster include JaVale McGee, Rudy Gay, Khris Middleton, Hassan Whiteside, Marvin Williams and will be coached by Spurs assistant coach Ettore Messina.

Also participating in the game will be NBA assistant coaches Bill Bayno, Harold Ellis, Adrian Griffin, Mark Hughes, B.J. Johnson, Patrick Mutombo and David Vanterpool as well as NBA referees Tony Brothers and Derrick Stafford.
Naismith memorial basketball hall of famer, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, NBA global ambassador and former player Dikembe Mutombo will also be attending the game.
The NBA has held two sold-out Africa Games, in Johannesburg in 2015 and 2017, in support of charities including the Nelson Mandela Foundation, Boys and Girls Clubs of South Africa, SOS Children’s Villages South Africa (SOSCVSA) and UNICEF.
There are more than 80 current and former NBA players from Africa or with direct family ties to the continent, including Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famers Hakeem Olajuwon and Dikembe Mutombo.
