Twitter responds to De Villiers’ retirement
Twitter reacts after Springbok captain Jean de Villiers announces his retirement from International Rugby.

Springbok captain Jean de Villiers had social media buzzing on Sunday with his retirement from International Rugby after suffering an injury at the Rugby World Cup in Engeland.
De Villiers announced his decision on Sunday afternoon following an extended battles with injuries.
The 34-year-old suffered a jaw fracture during the Boks’ 46-6 win over Samoa on Saturday. The injury meant he would not feature for the rest of the tournament.
De Villiers captained the Springboks on 37 occasions and has 109 caps under his belt, which makes him the second most-capped Springbok player of all time.
He made his debut in 2002 and has represented South Africa in three World Cups.
De Villiers was the main focus on twitter on Monday morning with fans pouring their tributes.
Minister of Sports Fikile Mbalula called De Villiers a patriot and a true warrior.
Blue Bulls scrum-half Francois Hougaard tweeted: “It’s been a honour calling you my friend and even more so playing along side you. An absolute legend of the game #JDV.”
