Records broken as Proteas demolish India
A century each from Quinton de Kock, Faf du Plessis and AB de Villiers saw the Proteas clinch the ODI series win against India.

The Proteas annihilated India by a 214 runs to claim a 3-2 One Day International (ODI) series victory at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, India, on Sunday.
Records tumbled as South Africa easily defended a 438 total to claim an emphatic first ever ODI away victory in India.
The men from the South won the toss and elected to bat with Hashim Amla and Quinton de Kock opening the innings like a house on fire. The pair brought up 33 in 4 overs before Amla was caught behind by MS Dhoni.
De Kock did not look like stopping as he managed to sprint his way to his eighth ODI hundred and fifth against the Indians.
He and Faf du Plessis accelerated the run rate before the young wicketkeeper was dismissed by Suresh Raina for 109.
But runs continued with AB ‘Mr 360’ de Villiers at the crease making light work of dispatching the Indian bowlers off the park to yet another ton in the series. His 119 off 61 balls took the Proteas to 399/3 in 47 overs.
David Miller and Farhaan Berhadien piled up the runs in the last three overs to help the Proteas post 438.
India’s chase got of the worst possible start as Shikhar Dhawan (7) and Rohit Sharma (21) both fell before the 10th over.
The Indians never recovered as De Villiers’ men kept pushing for wickets. Kagiso Rabada was the most successful bowler with figures of 4/41. India eventually were bowled out for 224, still needing 216 for victory.
List of records made:
438 is SA’s highest score against India.
438 is also the highest score at the Wankhede Stadium
Second-most sixes in an ODI innings (20, by South Africa)
Second most runs conceded by a bowler in an ODI (106 by Bhuvneshwar Kumar)
